About The Titans
The Titans team is made up of 50 high school, college, and NFL Football players. These players have one dream, and that’s to advance their football careers, and continue down their path to the National Football League. At this time we have numerous players being contacted for advancement to the NFL, Arena 1, and NCAA college football . The Titans dynamic is an incredible story. Our players range from fresh out of college guys, to professionals in the Huntsville Community. Player’s professions range from engineers, preachers, salesman, retailers, current students, coaches, teachers, drug treatment counselors, etc. All the players play their part in the community, but are still after one goal, advancing to the NFL. Our league gives these players the chance to do so. Every player in our league is given a free ticket to Las Vegas NFL Combine in April. All game-film is sent into the national scouting association of America, and numerous scouts from various colleges, arena, and NFL teams attend our games.
The city of Huntsville is an incredible market for a football. The city of Huntsville is listed by Forbes Magazine as the number 1 place to live in the entire United States during a recession. We have a metro population of over 600,000 people, and are located in the middle of the nation’s football belt. With 9 high schools, including the biggest school in the state of Alabama, as well as 4 other 6A schools in the surrounding area, Huntsville is a football pipeline to the NCAA and NFL. The Titans, in our first year of existence, over a 5 home game schedule, had an average attendance of 3,987 fans. A crowd high of 5,876! After an incredible inaurgural season, the Titans were able to finish with a 14-1 record, and take home the 2010 BCS Semi-Pro National Championship. The game was played on October 16th in Atlanta against the Chicago Cardinals. The Titans won with ease 34-16!
Season 2 was almost a repeat. The Titans had an incredible regular season, finishing the season with a perfect 10-0 record, winning the Pioneer Conference for the PSFL for the 2nd year in a row! This gave the Titans an incredible 13-0 record at home over their first 2 seasons. The Titans dream of a repeat fell short though in the second round of the Premier South Football Leagues playoffs against the Nashville Storm. The Titans had beaten the Strom 34-7 at home earlier in the year, but a timely penalty cost the Titans the game, losing 34-31.
The Titans, along with playing football, do numerous things throughout the community as well. We give an annual scholarship to a local high school student, awarding him or her for there academic and athletic achievements. Support breast cancer awareness, have numerous blood drives, adopt mentally challenged kids throughout the city and take them in to work with the team during the season, visit elementary schools, work with the Boys and Girls Club of America, and will also hold summer long training camps for city athletes from over 9 high schools in the area. The “Train With The Titans” Program will benefit over 200 kids over the summer months.
The ways we market our team publicly are through numerous media techniques. We have constant radio ads on 3 separate stations. We have numerous billboards promoting our team throughout the city. We have TV commercials on the Valley CW, FOX 54, and WHNT 19, (CBS), and are devout fully followed by all the TV News Stations, and the Huntsville Times. There is not a person in the surrounding Huntsville area that does not know of the Rocket City Titans, and we are continually trying to expand our market to reach farther and farther out.
